Has it really been two years since Gabbing Geek published the greatest article the internet has ever seen? What… a… rollercoaster! Fan letters.  Press conferences.  The late night talk shows.  Groupies.  Oh the groupies!

It’s been a whirlwind.

No single article in Gabbing Geek history has been more debated, discussed, and admired than “What Would Happen If The Justice League Had To Fight….TO THE DEATH?!?”

The debate rages on to this very day.  Friendships were shattered.  Families torn apart.  Trump was elected.  This article had consequences, people!

Iron Man's Dad to Try to Kill God?

Looks like Dominic Cooper, famous for playing Howard Stark (aka Iron Man’s pappa) in Captain America is the new front runner to play the lead in Preacher; a Vertigo Comics series about a disillusioned preacher trying to find and kill the creator. This property has been in development many times, so we are skeptical. Sound like a good choice IF they move forward?

It is often said on the Gabbing Geek podcast (listen to it!) that I don’t read comics.  Well I did once.  So in talking to my buddy Phil Ray the other day, he asked me to write a post on my ten favorite Trade Paperbacks ever (“other than Watchmen, of course”). It’s Oscar season, and we are looking for a Gabbing Geek way to cover Hollywood’s biggest night, so today we take a look at the best and worst performances by an Oscar Winning performer while playing a character in a comic book superhero film.  Some of them were future winners when they donned the tights, others already had the Oscars on the shelf.

We are leaving out movies like Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtles and other non-superhero comic films, so you gotta be a superhero property to be eligible here! So who is the best and who is the worst (and a bonus for comic completionists, the full list of every Oscar winning performer to play in the genre!)?  Let’s read on, shall we?
