Watson’s 20 Favorite Superheroes of All-Time

I am list crazy these days.  Time to tackle my favorite superheroes ever. This is Gabbing GEEK after all.

I am going to warn you.  My list is DC heavy! Only 4 of my 20 are Marvel characters… and though I like non-mainstream superhero stories, no other company scored a character in the top 20.

I ranked my characters based on their appearance in all mediums: comics, movies, cartoons, and toys.  There are some characters where I liked their film versions, but disliked their comic version so much (Wolverine comes to mind) that they didn’t make the cut!

Watson Ranks the Top 150 Movies of 2018

It was a really weird year for movies. In 2018, there may not have been a film worthy of Best Picture, but I set a personal record, so there is something worth celebrating.  In this down year in movies, I broke my all-time personal record from 2014 and watched 150 new movies.  So let’s look back at the year in film with my annual review of all the new releases I saw!

Could you have imagined the idea of Avengers: Infinity War back in 1989? (A history of superhero adaptations)

We are about to witness a historic moment in superhero adaptations. Sure we’ve had an Avengers movie or three.

Sure that airport scene in Civil War felt like something out of big summer Annual story.

Sure a movie teaming up Thor, Hulk, Valkyrie, and featuring Dr Strange, felt eventful.

But Infinity War feels like something new and different…

Gabbing Geek Predicts the Oscars!

It’s Oscar day!  Usually my favorite day of the year!  Though it is an ecclectic year, I am not sure any of us are really that excited for the show.  Very little chance of a Clue reference in the monologue.  Some chance…but small.

Nonetheless, you expect predictions from Gabbing Geek and here we are.  I will give you my prediciton, tell you who SHOULD win, and maybe give a little commentary.  Then, because he is too lazy to write his own article, Ryan is gonna attach his picks to my article like the parasite he is.  Enjoy!

Watson’s 25 Favorite Movies EVER! … & Five Painful Omissions!

Gabbing Geek’s own Tom Kelly is doing an amazing re-watch of all of the top 100 films as recognized by the AFI.

Standing around the water cooler (virtually that is… Tom is a good friend, but we’ve only met three times in person!), discussing the majesty that is Goodfellas, I remarked that it is a favorite all-time film of mine. Tom challenged me to rank my favorite all time films and finally get it on the record.

When is a Film REALLY “Spielberg Worthy”?

Having recently reviewed The Post, the latest film from Steven Spielberg, I got to talking with fellow Gabbing Geek movie reviewer, Tom Kelly, about Spielberg’s career.  In Tom’s review, he noted that this seemed to be a little bit of a paint by numbers affair from someone I have described as the greatest director of all-time.

Has it really been two years since Gabbing Geek published the greatest article the internet has ever seen? What… a… rollercoaster! Fan letters.  Press conferences.  The late night talk shows.  Groupies.  Oh the groupies!

It’s been a whirlwind.

No single article in Gabbing Geek history has been more debated, discussed, and admired than “What Would Happen If The Justice League Had To Fight….TO THE DEATH?!?”

The debate rages on to this very day.  Friendships were shattered.  Families torn apart.  Trump was elected.  This article had consequences, people!
